Individual Therapy for Adults

Individual counseling can be beneficial in many ways. It can be helpful for anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, self-esteem, relationships, and so much more. Even if you’re not looking for help with anything specific, Individual Counseling can provide you with new and useful insight into yourself, your emotions and motivations, your relationships, and the way you navigate the world.

Individual Therapy for Teens (ages 13+)

It can be beneficial for teens to have a supportive space that’s separate from family, peers, school and social media, where they can process all the changes, difficult emotions and stress that are unique to adolescence. Individual Counseling can help teenagers with issues related to (but not limited to) friendships, school, family, anxiety, depression, confidence, anger, identity, and much more.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma is a lasting emotional response that humans develop in response to a distressing event or prolonged exposure to toxic stress. Basically, something(s) happens to us, and the way we function and feel changes moving forward. Trauma can negatively impact our view of ourselves, our relationships, our physical health, and just about any other important area of our lives. Our therapists are trauma-informed and trained in a variety of therapy methods to help you begin your healing journey, including but not limited to Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing, IFS, and EMDR.

Couples/Relationship and Family Therapy

At Cosmic Cottage, we understand that relationships and family systems can be complex. Maybe you're a parent and you're having a hard time communicating with your teenager. Maybe you and your best friend had a huge fight and would like to work on repairing that rupture. Maybe you live with your two romantic partners and want to make sure that communication stays open and healthy. Whether there's a big problem, or you just want to bring everyone closer together, therapy can help enhance the overall well-being of the entire family unit.
